They are ideal for use with a grease gun to lubricate bearings or joints.The nipples work like valve caps, sitting over the grease hole in a rotary bearing or similar part. Pushing lubricant out from the grease gun depresses a spring ball bearing in the nipple and allows the grease to flow. The ball bearing returns to the closed position when not under pressure, which keeps contaminants out of the part you're greasing for cleaner work. The grease nipples are made from corrosion-resistant, zinc-passivated steel, so are safe to use in damp or wet environments.The grease nipples meet ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014 and BS EN 61340-5-1:2007 Electrostatic Control Standards, meaning they won't damage equipment via electrostatic discharge.
