An accident protection hood made of al- die cast completely shields the pedal up and from the sides and provides a high stability with the wide support. This prevents random operation by falling objects from above or by insincerity from the side. Due to its stability, the hood can withstand a drop weight of 20kg from a height of 1m. In the case of foot switches with bistabil switching function, the switch position is maintained after the first operation, even after the pedal is released. After a new operation, the contacts are reset.
