In the case of automatic machines, it is often necessary to obtain a switching signal for certain piston positions of a pneumatic cylinder. This is where magnetic cylinder sensors are used. These magnetic sensors serve the contact-free and wear-free position detection in the control technology. They are used wherever inductive sensors reach their limits. Magnetic cylinder sensors offer a significantly higher switching distance with at the same time small design. As magnetic fields penetrate all non-magnetising materials, the sensors can detect magnets through, for example, coloured metal, stainless steel, aluminium, plastic or wood walls. The electronic cylinder sensors can be used on all cylinders of leading manufacturers (Bosch, Festo, Norgren, Martonair, Numatics) and can be directly interchangeable against reed switches in three-wire technology.
