Optical sensors of the ipf electronic in the 4mm round versions and M5 are the smallest devices of their kind with built-in amplifier. They have a metal housing and are completely cast in the vacuum. In the optical part, hollow mirrors are used. These allow for complete pouring and thus ensure excellent resistance in difficult environmental conditions. The electronic part is made in chip-on-board technology (no ceramic hybrid) and is therefore insensitive to vibrations. In addition, in the case of mechanical stress a break of the PCB is avoided. The glass optics are scratch-proof and easy to clean. The complete casting with cast resin ensures the protection type IP67. Inductive sewing switches may be replaced if they do not provide the required switching distance. For example, buttons with cylindrical light beam can also be used within a tube. These subminiature devices can also be used where larger light barriers do not have enough space. They also serve as an alternative to light-conductor systems because they do not need an external amplifier. A yellow LED signals the switching state. In case of insufficient functional reserve (pollution or unfavourable alignment), this LED flashes and thus indicates operation in the uncertain area.
