The use of light conductors in the opto electronics is very helpful. The ipf fiber system is a functional unit of a flexible fibre light cable and the optoelectronic amplifier. The exceptional advantages of the fibre technology are used in conjunction with a series of high-quality amplifiers as versatile fibre light barriers and as a fibre light button. ipf light conductors consist of a bundle of individual approx. 50μm strong glass fibres. The associated light-conductor amplifiers send out modulated IR light. This is transmitted by the light-conducting glass fibres according to the principle of total reflection. The individual glass fibre is made of core and mantle glass. The light beam entering the core glass is guided through the glass fibre due to the reflection on the contact surfaces (see image). Due to the excellent optical and mechanical properties of the ipf light conductors, this technology is particularly suitable for use in automation and production processes, in the field of micro-part detection and in difficult installation and environment conditions. Fibre light cable is used in all industrial areas, including mechanical engineering, chemistry, pharmacy, ceramics and plastic processing.
