ISOMETER ® IR420D6 Product Description The "off-line monitor" of the IR420D6 series monitors the isolation resistance of consumers in the off-line state. These temporarily or mainly off-line consumers, such as fire-extinguishing pumps, sliding drives, lift engines or emergency power generators, are fed from TN-, TT- or IT-systems. During the downtime, there may be isolation failure due to moisture or other effects in the supply line or the consumer, which are not noticed. When the device is switched on, the protective device will then respond or motor fires will occur and operation is not possible. In combination with a coupling device, the devices can also be used for higher voltages. Disconnected consumers, such as automatic fire-extinguishing pumps, engines for emergency dampers, crane systems (e.g. on ships), sliding drives in supply lines (gas, water, oil, etc.), motor-controlled locking systems, dipping pumps, anchor winches, elevators, smoke gas flaps, emergency power generators function less than the isolation resistance between the network ladders and earth the set response values, the alarm relays and the alarm LEDs turn on. The measured value is displayed on the internal display. This also makes changes, for example when switching on of outputs, easily visible. The error storage is reset by pressing the reset key. The test button checks the device function. By two possible response values, each with its own alarm relay, a pre-warning is already realized with very high-intensity isolation errors. The second, below, response value can then prevent the connection of the defective consumer via a locking. The measurement of the insulation resistance is done via the output L1 or a contact to the monitoring system. The contact is controlled via the K3 circuit. If the system is untensioned, the contact is closed and the insulation resistance is measured. If the system or the consumer is in operation, the contact is opened by K3 and the insulation measurement is disabled. It is important to ensure that the main switch turns off all the way. The overlay of the measuring voltage shall be ensured that there is a low-length connection between all power lines (e.g. by engine development). Note: If the IR420D6 is operated by a coupling device, the K3 auxiliary contact (opener) in the line between the ISOMETER ® and the coupling device does not need to be designed for the nominal voltage of the system. A contact measurement voltage of AC 230 V is sufficient at this point.
