With the Modicon modular safety controller XPSMCM, security applications can be easily configured and the system with modules can be flexibly extended according to the application. This central unit (CPU) of version 2 is the basic module required for each safety system on machines and systems. The CPU is used to process the configured security application. 8 secure digital inputs, 4 secure OSSD outputs and 2 status outputs are available. Up to 14 extension modules allow the connection of up to 128 safe inputs and 32 safe outputs, 48 reporting outputs, as well as number-of-turn versions and analog value evaluation. A diagnostic communication with the connected PLC is possible by optional field bus extension. An optional memory card with the stored configuration can be plugged in on the back of the module. The available safety level is PL e in category 4 or SIL 3. LED displays give status messages to the system and for each input and output. The configuration is done by the user with the free software SoSafe Configurable via USB connection from the PC. With the attached back-wall bus plug, extension modules can be connected directly. This order number of the CPU is therefore particularly suitable for larger applications where extensions are provided. The supply voltage is 24 VDC. The module has removable screw clamps and has a construction width of 22.5 mm.
