The crimping will puncture the connector to let data be transmitted through it. These dies create a hexagonal crimp in a choice of three sizes or a small square crimp. They're supplied with bolts to fix them into the crimping tool. The parts meet the requirements of US (ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014) and European (BS EN 61340-5-1:2007) electrostatic control standards, meaning they won't damage equipment via electrostatic discharge.
